Fun Pics for Gramma

Pictures come from every imaginable source, cameras, phones, web cams, the girls often snap pix of my Angel when they're out running errands and she does something overly silly. Or just extra cute. My favorite photos of course, are the ones where she's being a happy girl.

Our favorite song, and we sing it together, is "If you're happy and you know it..." We sang it this morning, when we talked.

This is my special dumplin' being silly with Uncle Sean's hat. I see you Lizzie Boo.

Phone Call from Heaven

"Gramma"

"Hello Elizabeth, How are you?"

The call was from my granddaughter, not quite nineteen months old. She made the call frequently, about the time she wanted to get up, while mommy got in the shower. Talking to Gramma keeps her busy while Mommy takes a shower. Mommy knows she's sitting in the middle of the bed talking to Gramma for five minutes while she's getting ready for work. Elizabeth has something to keep her occupied, and Gramma gets the pleasure of talking to Elizabeth first thing in the morning.

"Gramma! Hi!"

"What book are we reading today?"

"Elephants," Elizabeth answered happily.

"Oh, we're reading the Zoo book. Are there monkeys and kangaroo in the Zoo too?"

"Poppamus, Crock-iles, Ducks."

"Are they having dinner?"

"Crock-iles eat ducks." Elizabeth explained. "Poppamus swim. Go Zoo."

"Maybe on the weekend?"

"Mommy say, Snow."

"Oh, Mommy says it's going to snow?" I clarified.

"Snow boating."

"Oh, you're going snow boarding?" I use the whole word, "that will be a lot of fun. You'll have a good time."

She shows me another book over the phone and I wonder if we should hook up her webcam so she can talk and see me. It would be fun to see her. But, I'm not sure we can keep it secure.

"Mom, I'm out of the shower. I'll take her and feed her breakfast." My daughter talks over the speaker phone.

"Okay, bye Lizzie. I love you!"

"Smack!" she sends me a kiss.

"I got it!" I slap my cheek playfully, remembering the joy on her face when I catch her kisses. "Here's your kiss, Lizzie!" I send her back a kiss and hang up the phone when the dialtone rings in my ear.

"That's Gramma's Little Angle and a phone call from Heaven..." I sigh and walk to the kitchen for another cup of coffee. "I'm still smitten by the love bug." I think, putting a slice of bread in the toaster and pouring myself a cup of coffee with cream.
